    Causes of Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown toenails are a common condition in which the corner or side of a toenail grows into the soft flesh. The result is pain, redness, swelling and, sometimes, an infection. Ingrown toenails usually affect your big toe.
    Symptoms
    • Pain and tenderness in your toe along one or both sides of the nail
    • Redness around your toenail
    • Swelling of your toe around the nail
    • Infection of the tissue around your toenail
    Causes
    • cutting toenails erroneously (Cut straight over, since calculating the sides of the nail can urge the nail to develop into the skin.)
    • footwear that places a great deal of weight on the huge toes, for example, socks and leggings that are excessively tight or shoes that are excessively tight, limited, or level for your feet
    • toenail damage, including stubbing your toe, dropping something substantial on your foot, or kicking a ball more than once
    • poor stance
    • inappropriate foot cleanliness, for example, not keeping your feet perfect or dry
    • hereditary inclination
Ingrown toenails can be very painful and irritating, so precaution is better than cure. If you see any of the symptoms that is causing you, feel free to consult and doctor immediately.
